Built In Perma-Tune Rev Limiter Option
All Perma-Tune ignition modules are now available with a built in RPM limiter. This feature uses a micro controller (MCU) to perform the RPM limiting function. The MCU provides a “soft” rev limiting function that will not cause the vehicle to buck or backfire when the engine reaches the programmed RPM limit. Changing the RPM limit requires no RPM chips to buy and there are no cheap DIP switches to fail. The MCU programmed RPM limit can be changed in 100 RPM increments between 6,200 and 7,700 RPM by moving jumpers located under the side cover. These jumpers are corrosion proof gold flash plated and cannot come loose as long as the side cover is put back on the module after the changes are made.
To order the RPM limiter feature on any Perma-Tune, add the suffix “RL” to the end of the part number. Example: To order the 911SC902 module with the RPM limiter, order the part number 911SC902RL.

Remote RPM Limiter Part Number RV020
The RV020 RPM limiter is intended for use when the RPM limit is changed often or when the driver must be able to change the RPM limit on the fly. It can be used on twin plug cars to control both ignition modules simultaneously. The RV020 is compatible with all of the black Perma-Tune modules made by Plasmatronics, LLC.
Remote RPM Limiter Part Number RV021
The RV021 has an added feature that allows the engine builder to wire in safe guards that alert the driver of engine problems by cutting the engine RPM limit in half. Any number of sensors can be added to trigger the half RPM function such as:
- Low oil temperature
- Low oil pressure
- High oil temperature
- High coolant temperature
- High cylinder head temperature
- Or any other one wire trip sensor
